The Journey Ahead

October 15, 2014 Leave a comment

So first I suppose I need to catch you up since I last posted in 2010. That year was a struggle for me personally and professionally. I had to lay a guy off and almost had to close the doors to my business. Since then our business has grown from 2 full time employees to 7 and we are now experiencing some major growing pains. The Lord has blessed me and our company even though I have not been faithful in my walk over the past few years.
We’re not real sure where we are headed but we are definitely trying to seek His face and understand His ultimate plan and what he wants us to do.
I truly am grateful for my Heavenly Father with his patience for me and His unshakable love. With that said my plan is to restart this blog mainly just to hold my feet to the fire but also to encourage you as well and your struggles as we walk together.
Some things will change, some things will stay the same. Probably will look more along the lines of my personal daily life than it will an actual Bible study.

For His Glory,
Jason

Psalm 111:1-10 (NIV)

Daily Passage:

Praise the LORD. I will extol the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever—holy and awesome is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

 Testimony:

The Lord never fails in His provision. He keeps His mighty hand upon those that stay near to Him. As I reflect on the things that have happened to me in the past few months and the way my life has changed I know that I can trust in the provision of the one that saved me. I also know and can trust that even as I sometimes forget and stray He is gracious and compassionate toward me.

Prayer Requests:

Father, thank you for providing for me a life that I can worship and praise you; Father, you replenish my soul when all else seems lost. Be my Shepard, O Lord, watch over me as I walk in this life that I may only follow you and your ways. Amen.

Psalm 110:1-7 (NIV)

Daily Passage:

The LORD says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” The LORD will extend your mighty scepter from Zion; you will rule in the midst of your enemies. Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy majesty, from the womb of the dawn you will receive the dew of your youth. The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth. He will drink from a brook beside the way; therefore he will lift up his head.

 Testimony:

Once again Christ will come to this world but this time He will come with judgment and salvation at the same time. When Christ returns it will be time for all the people of the world to make a choice and their choice will not always be what you would think. For years the gospel of Christ has been preached and many have turned their heads in disbelief of His reality and His salvation. Pray for those that do not have a future in the Kingdom of Heaven that they will repent and seek His face.

Prayer Requests:

Father, forgive us as a nation and as a people for we do not worship you; we do not expect your return. O Lord, give us a new heart that we may live with you forever. Father, I pray for those that do not know you that you will miraculously present yourself to them and they will have no other choice! Father, keep us from the enemy, protect our hearts so that we may serve you. Amen.

Psalm 109:1-31 (NIV)

Daily Passage:

O God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues. With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause. In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer. They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship. Appoint an evil man to oppose him; let an accuser stand at his right hand. When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayers condemn him. May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership. May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor. May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children. May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation. May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out. May their sins always remain before the LORD, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy and the brokenhearted. He loved to pronounce a curse—may it come on him; he found no pleasure in blessing—may it be far from him. He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil. May it be like a cloak wrapped about him, like a belt tied forever around him. May this be the LORD’s payment to my accusers, to those who speak evil of me. But you, O Sovereign LORD, deal well with me for your name’s sake; out of the goodness of your love, deliver me. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. I fade away like an evening shadow; I am shaken off like a locust. My knees give way from fasting; my body is thin and gaunt. I am an object of scorn to my accusers; when they see me, they shake their heads. Help me, O LORD my God; save me in accordance with your love. Let them know that it is your hand, that you, O LORD, have done it. They may curse, but you will bless; when they attack they will be put to shame, but your servant will rejoice. My accusers will be clothed with disgrace and wrapped in shame as in a cloak. With my mouth I will greatly extol the LORD; in the great throng I will praise him. For he stands at the right hand of the needy one, to save his life from those who condemn him.

 Testimony:

When we live in the Lord some wish to do us wrong because of our faith to Christ. They falsely accuse when nothing has been done just because of their hatred of us. We can have faith that as Christ knew His place before Pilate that we too shall have a place before the unrighteousness of the earth. But we also have the promise of the Lord our God standing firm for us and in our defense.

Prayer Requests:

Father, protect me from those that falsely accuse me. Protect my family and friends as we go through this life trying our best to serve you, O Lord. Father, you are the mighty gavel and your ways have been decreed through your word as to show us what you have in store for the earth. Father, change the hearts of evil men that they may also serve you and repent of their sin. Amen!

Daily Passage:

My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth. Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Succoth. Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my scepter. Moab is my washbasin, upon Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies? Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

 Testimony:

God is the only way to victory; He is our only salvation and aid. Without His lead we can be sure to fail. Many times I have taken a challenge on by myself only to find failure at the end. Only when I trust in the Lord and His provision will I be successful.

Prayer Requests:

Father, you are my success for without you, O Lord, I am but a failure. Thank you Father for your undeserved blessings on my life and giving me abundance beyond my wildest dreams. Amen!

Daily Passage:

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains, for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron. Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy. Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep. For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves. They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits’ end. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders. He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there. He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks. The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths. Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the LORD.

Testimony:

When we are disobedient and the Lord convicts us we must be willing to heed the call to repent. The Lord knows the condition of our heart and He knows that when we sin through disobedience our soul longs for repentance. We are joined in one through the Lord and anything we do outside of His will is sin. We must listen to the call of His spirit to repent and forget.

Prayer Requests:

Father thank you for your loving forgiveness and your call of attention to my iniquities. Father, cure my heart to follow your statutes and lead me in your ways. Your love endures forever. Amen!

Psalm 106:1-48 (NIV)

Daily Passage:

Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare his praise? Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right. Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise. We have sinned, even as our fathers did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly. When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known. He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert. He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them. The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived. Then they believed his promises and sang his praise. But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his counsel. In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wasteland they put God to the test. So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease upon them. In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the LORD. The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it buried the company of Abiram. Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked. At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal. They exchanged their Glory for an image of a bull, which eats grass. They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt, miracles in the land of Ham and awesome deeds by the Red Sea. So he said he would destroy them—had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them. Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise. They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD. So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the desert, make their descendants fall among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands. They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods; they provoked the LORD to anger by their wicked deeds, and a plague broke out among them. But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked. This was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come. By the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them; for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses’ lips. They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them, but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance. He handed them over to the nations, and their foes ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power. Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin. But he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented. He caused them to be pitied by all who held them captive. Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the LORD.

Testimony:

It seems like a vicious cycle; we love the Lord and praise Him and He rewards us. Then we turn away and worship other gods and His spirit draws away. Then we realize what we have done so we turn back to the Lord again and the cycle starts over. How awesome and great is He who gives us forgiveness over and over again! If we could just learn from our mistakes and stay in His protective cover we would never have problems and issues raised in our lives. This is the most troubling aspect to me. I wish I could just remain true to the Lord and reap the benefits of just following Him every day. Why must I be so hard headed?

Prayer Requests:

Father, thank you for the patience you have afforded me over my lifetime. Thank you for sending me to the deep for my sin. Father, forgive me for not trusting wholly and fully in you. I want and desire to follow you and I cannot do it on my own. Come, Lord Jesus, save me from myself. Amen!
